It was always exciting meeting someone a bit clever. Well, clever for human standards. But still clever. Jane was definitely that, though her mind worked in a different way than Sherlock’s, it seemed. The Doctor didn’t care. He all of a sudden had a horde of people wanting to help him and learn more about the Dome. Would it get any of them home? Maybe not. But knowledge was power, and he didn’t like knowing so little about an enemy. It may not have been an always hostile enemy, but it helped to think of it as something to be wary of.
Jane’s place was far homier than his little apartment, and it made him long for the TARDIS even more. He might not have been able to leave, but it would have felt a bit more familiar. Even with the upgrades to the lights, the toaster and the TV, it wasn’t anywhere near entertaining enough. He needed more things to play with. And yes, occasionally break, but half the fun was in putting them back together again. There was only a small part of him that wanted to break the Dome. Well, a medium sized part.
It was really a very large part, but no one needed to know that.
Lizbet had been sleeping when he’d arrived, and he’d had to resist every urge to wake her up to say hello. But he was getting better at this acting like humans preferred thing, and they tended to get frowny about things like that.
“How long until you can get back to your lab?” He asked Jane as he wandered around the room, being as unobtrusively nosey as possible. Which he honestly wasn’t great at.
