Ella & Jesse McCree
Such a public place wasn't the appropriate forum to really delve into her husband's past, but Ella hated to see him so conflicted. She focused her attention on him as he sat back in his chair and placed her hand on his so that she could provide some support for him.
"It must have been very difficult," she consoled him gently. "But it's okay to be conflicted, just as it's okay to be happy or unhappy. However you feel, that is how you feel." Ella knew he had a difficult life prior to finding himself in Madison Valley and she would never hold his past against him. She didn't need to know the sordid details because she knew the man he'd proven himself to be every day she'd known him.
"I'm only glad I was there to ease some of it." She only ever wanted happiness for her husband. "And tonight, at least, will be better. I believe it is...extended hours tonight? At the children's club. You know how Max has loved his time there, so I think he would not mind if we were to have a bit of time to ourselves this evening." Ella was quiet in her offer to her husband, to be a distraction for him as he worked through his feelings. She'd do anything for him.
