Ella & Jesse McCree
Cruises weren't unheard of in McCree's time. They had them all over but McCree never had the means to take one. Not that he wanted to take one. The laidback lifestyle wasn't for McCree. At least, it hadn't been until he had come to Madison.
Now the quiet life of waking up on a lazy Sunday was enjoyable. Spending time with his wife and adopted son was ideal. It was perfect. It was a life that McCree wouldn't turn away.
Then he had nearly lost it all. The night in New Orleans was still plaguing him every minute and every day. Stepping onto the streets of Gibraltar earlier in the day had helped little. It looked vastly different compared to the one in his time. The lack of base and rocket launch bay was obvious, but there was more to it.
Things that weighed heavily on McCree's mind enough that he had to pull himself out of it too many times. He didn't want to ruin the entire experience for his family. Not even a moment of it. Which was why he looked up from his plate, a hearty steak with a slew of sides, and gave Ella a smile.
"Couldn't be happier, darlin'. I know that look, too. Help yourself to a bite."
