Jedikiah & OTA
This wasn't the first time Jedikiah had been to something like this, not by far. It was, however, infinitely more entertaining than being the face of Ultra and schmoozing the way he'd always had to -- or drumming up funding for research projects the way he'd had to in college. That one had been fun, because nobody had ever taken him seriously.
He knew John was there, had seen the other man, was doing his best to keep as far away as he could. He'd accepted that John wanted nothing to do with him, would do what he could to make sure that happened. Didn't change that it still hurt, but Jedikiah accepted that as far as John's opinion went, he had no right to hurt.
It was easy for him to keep to the edge of the crowd when people moved to begin dancing -- it just wasn't his thing. He was perfectly happy to find a spot to sit and watch and think. He was good at that.
