Cassie BR & Briar Moss
Later, when he calmed down and collected himself, Briar would feel bad about getting angry with her. He knew he would even as he just got more irritated. She sounded too much like Sandry had when he'd first gotten back to Emelan. She'd given him a day after he'd gone to Cheeseman Street, just like Cassie had given him a day, before she'd started pushing and prodding at him and going on about how they were family and trust and how things weren't the same anymore after the three of them had left her behind.
He understood now that she'd changed too, but just like it was from Cassie, he just got irritated because it wasn't like it was his fault things had changed. It wasn't like he'd wanted to go through everything he had.
"Trust ain't got nothin' to do with it." His words came out more sharply than he had meant but he didn't care. It stung that she thought he'd changed that much. "Bein' mates don't mean I wanna tell you everythin'." Reacting to his temper, every living plant nearby trembled with the same anger, those closest leaning toward him to offer their support.
Briar moved close to her, the fire burning in his eyes almost real with the connection to his sister's magic in him. "Stop asking."
