Being on a cruise ship, especially knowing that Rose was Lissa's roommate, meant that he could give her a little bit more freedom than usual while she was confined to just the ship. She had a good head on her shoulders and she'd been doing well in their few training sessions they'd started with, so overall he wasn't too worried. Still, that didn't mean he wasn't going to check in on her here and there, make sure she was alright and spend time with her if she wanted. Mornings were interesting on the ship because of his roommate situation, so he tended to be up and out, settled at the cafe with coffee and a pastry along with the morning newspaper.
After a little while had passed, he'd set down the newspaper and accepted a refill on his coffee when Lissa entered the cafe. Gibs lifted his hand in a slight wave to catch her attention. "Good morning," he greeted her, kind but a little bit off. He was still adjusting to waking up with Lydia each morning.
