Anna had curled up late in her room at her house. The curtains had been drawn tight, and she really had no desire to face the world in the morning. She'd pulled a double shift, worked until her feet felt like they hated her, and crawled into bed. It was hard to make herself work that hard but it did happen. She didn't like coming home to silence. It was unnerving when she craved company, contact, people. But she didn't dare intrude on anyone.
So she pulled the quilt over her head and nestled down to sleep, planning to pick up a double again tomorrow. That plan was shifted upon the rising of the sun, and her Wolf was practically screaming in her head for her to wake up. Something was wrong. Very, very wrong. The wolf was frustrated with Anna and took the reins for the moment while the human side woke up. As she opened her eyes they shifted from honey brown to ice blue as the wolf picked up the slack. She was out of bed in all of a second, feet carrying her to the door, nose catching the scent of salt. Her fingers slid it open so she could step out onto the balcony.
Anna had plenty of hangups and fears - alpha males still set her off some days, the past abuse left her twitchy in some circumstances - but her biggest fear since becoming a werewolf was water. She had been reminded they cannot swim. That drowning was a surefire thing. So the fact she was faced with a very vast ocean view had her on the edge of panic. "Oh hell." she stepped back and closed the door, putting her back to the wall and closing her eyes. She took a few measured breaths, okay she was okay. Then she looked up and realized someone else was in the room.
"Nick?" she said after a second, "Hey, wake up, we're not in Madison Valley anymore," she said as she paused by his bed and laid a hand on his shoulder to jostle him a little.
