The smell of savory spices filled the air as the 'young man' moved back and forth across the kitchen; checking on the dishes in the oven, while keeping an eye on the stove top too. It had been a few decades since he had been to Ethiopia, and at least twenty years or so since he had last tried his hand at cooking up Ethiopian cuisine. Still after talking with the princess the prospect of sharing a meal with her, and getting to hear about some of the planets she had been to, was too good to pass up. Despite appearances being to the contrary Tuck had been around a long time; having picked up some skills over the never ending years. Oh he wasn't a master chef by any means, but since Jesse tended to be the one to cook when it was just him and his brother out on the road, well the youngest Tuck had learned how to handle himself in the kitchen without making too much of a mess.
Honestly the lad was just grateful to have found the seasonings he needed in town, and over the last few hours Tuck had done his best to recreate the dishes he had enjoyed the most. The injera had been the hardest to recall, but after a few failed attempts the sourdough-risen flatbread finally came out right. Right now Jesse's mouth was watering as the scent of the spicy Ethiopian chicken stew filled the air, and after checking on the rest of the dishes he finally paused to grab a bottle of beer from the fridge. Barely a few gulps in he paused when the door bell rang, and with a grin he set the beer onto the counter and strolled over to welcome his guest. Not bothering to slip off the apron, or to wipe the bit of flour still clinging to his brow or shirt.
"Hey, good timing! Come on in, Leia. I'm almost finished but you can join me in the kitchen while I get things set, and we'll see about getting you a drink."
