York had the kind of patience that was required for this sort of thing, but even he wasn't sure that it would all turn out alright. He took a deep breath and stopped himself from sighing. That wouldn't do anyone any good right now.
"I know you might not remember it, but there were these children who came to Madison over Christmas. One of them was yours and Carolina's, and he told us something was wrong. That you use a notebook now to keep track of things. I told you then, and I'm telling you now. We will figure this out, Wash."
He frowned at the mention of Carolina not wanting to tell him. "She's got her own issues she's dealing with and she let it affect you. It's bullshit and she knows it." York understood why she did what she did, even if he didn't agree with it. "She thought she was doing what was best for you, even though we told her that it wasn't. She knew she needed to tell you."
