WHO Layla Saddiqui & Amaar Rashid WHAT Trying to be sneaky WHEN Monday evening (day after this) WHERE Their apartment WARNINGS TBD but lying to an adult for sure STATUS Closed | Incomplete
This was a disaster. For as excited as she'd been to dye her hair, Layla hadn't considered that it would be this bad. She could admit that maybe it was worse this way because of how she'd chickened out after they'd stripped the color out of her hair. It had just been such a crazy, stark change that she'd freaked out. It wasn't Molly's fault, not really, but she couldn't help being a little mad. She'd demanded a scarf to borrow so she could cover her hair. It would get a lot of questions out of Amaar probably, and she was going to feel terrible about lying to him, but better to lie than tell the truth and see his disappointment in her.
Layla said a silent prayer to Allah that Amaar wasn't in any of the main areas of their apartment as she let herself in. "I'm back from Molly's!" she called as she tried to scurry towards her room. Hopefully he wouldn't see her and she could just avoid him seeing her in the hijab until she could fix it. She reasoned with herself that it would be better for him to think she was being more devout during Ramadan than to know that she'd tried to dye her hair. Unfortunately, Amaar wasn't in his room or anything and he got a real good look at her. Uh oh. She tried not to look as guilty as she felt.
