Despite the horribleness of the topic, Mary found she felt better with the young woman's words. She felt lucky to have actually bumped into her that day. It felt good to speak about it even if it was to a complete stranger and Mary appreciate all of what she said. It was nice not to be judged for it even if the choice was one of the worst possible to make.
"I appreciate that," Mary replied sincerely and she offered a weak smile to the young woman. "It means a lot. Thank you. For listening. You didn't have to, but you did and that is a big deal. I'll never forget it. I promise." Mary took another sip of her water before adding. "I should let you get back to the festival though. You should enjoy your day and I'll try to enjoy mine. I think you already helped a lot with that."
