Physically, Mary was fine. Mentally? Not so much. She'd allowed herself to think too much about the past, something the inevitably could not be changed. That was always a bad thing for anyone to do. It brought a person down and Mary was certainly there, but it was clear from the expression on the young woman's face that she was concerned for the blond and Mary wanted to reassure her there was nothing wrong.
"I'm okay. Just lost in thought for a moment too long," Mary replied with a weary smile. She was only twenty, but the things she'd witnessed and knew made her feel so much older than that. The weight of it all was incredible sometimes. "And yeah, I think it's a common theme for most people on occasion. But you're okay right?"
