Cloudy days meant lower light levels which translated to Riddick feeling more inclined to wander the daytime than usual. He didn't notice the temperature so much himself though it was interesting to see how other people modified their wardrobe based on a little wind or the hint of rain. There were rare circumstances which drove Riddick to adapting his wardrobe. It'd take a lot more than what Madison Valley had thrown at him so far to get him into more than a t-shirt and cargo pants.
People spent less time in the park with the weather threatening even a drop of rain. Riddick chose to go into a coffee shop to get a drink -warmer than he expected and better flavored- and watch the people who came and went. He wasn't interested in looking up any one particular person. It was more he wanted to spend some time in the presence of people than that he wanted to associate with someone specific. For him, an interest in being near others was almost anathema to his base nature.
He blamed the impulse on being trapped inside the city too long.
"Careful," Riddick cautioned, reaching out to catch an advertisement sign which was in the process of being knocked over from a rush of people leaving and entering the shop, "Never can tell if they have a 'break it you bought it' rule in place. I'm not interested in buying anything here I can't eat or drink. You feel different, that's on you."
Most of the tables were already occupied while Riddick was sitting alone. He hadn't noticed if the person who'd gotten knocked into the sign had come in alone or with someone else. There were too many smells in the air for Riddick to isolate them right off. It stood to reason they might need a place to sit.
"If you plan on staying when you get your order, I'd be fine with company. Seems there's a lot of people trying to stay inside here. I'm thinking it's in case of rain though I haven't seen a drop fall yet."
Riddick blew on his drink before taking another sip, content to let his offer stand on its own merit.
