Locus had bought his life with a lot of people with the act of saving Wash. She would make sure that Tucker understood that since he had as much reason as anyone to hate the mercenary.
York being there to be positive about it helped. There were things he'd always backed down on and let her figure out at her own speed, and things she'd been able to push him away from, but when he said Wash would come a long way in Madison Valley it was in that tone of voice that didn't allow for argument.
"I don't know. He gets...angry. Gray said it was normal with his injury and also it has to be frustrating as hell which can't help but he didn't used to be the one with the temper. Most of the time he's Wash, but he can get mad and lash out. As strong as we are he could hurt someone pretty easily." She'd had her share of bruises either being the one he lashed out at or getting in between him and others.
Church was watching her body language and something wasn't adding up. There were certain tells when Carolina wasn't being up front about something because she sucked at being anything other than direct and in your face. It meant pissing her off or not he went ahead and transferred to her storage unit so he could look at the memories. And there was a lot there that he was going to have to think about later but there was one glaring thing he got right up front.
"You didn't tell him? How could you not tell him?"
"Epsilon damn it." She knew it was coming she just had wanted to admit it without AI help. "He knows he's injured, he knows he's recovering and that it was really bad."
"Yeah but he doesn't know about the brain damage. C he's going to kick your ass."
