WHO Layla Siddiqui & Cassandra Sandsmark WHAT Science Experiment Homework WHEN Friday, April 19 (backdated) WHERE Out and about WARNINGS TBD, will update as needed STATUS Closed | MATCHUP | Incomplete
The experiment wasn't a difficult one. It didn't sound like it anyway. It should have been straightforward, but Cassie Sandsmark was not simple or straightforward. If there was a chance to add the use of her powers and such, she was going to jump at it.
"So, hear me out, okay? What if I make the drop from up there?" Pointing up, Cassie followed through and looked up at the sky. Up there, somewhere, was the top of the dome. She could reach it, Cassie was certain of that.
"We could make two drops! With two different things? What do you think?" With a wide smile and far too much excitement in her expression, Cassie turned to Layla hoping she was just as excited as she was.

Layla had been pretty alright with getting paired up with Cassie because she was nice and easy to get along with. Their science project was fairly open ended all things considered, although she was a bit skeptical that it was open ended enough to get away with dropping something from as high up as Cassie could fly. That was still something she had a bit of trouble wrapping her head around since superheroes and people who could fly weren't really a part of her every day life back home. Layla looked up where Cassie pointed a bit skeptically. She couldn't help it.
"Just how high up?" she asked, her skepticism front and center. Layla was definitely still trying to be nice about it, though. Not outright saying no, taking the time to ask questions and get clarity. "Won't that be kind of dangerous?" They'd have to do it away from densely populated areas so that way no one would get hurt. Even something as small as a penny would end up hitting the ground pretty hard from what she could imagine.

"Hmm. Good question! I'm not sure how high up the top is, but I guess pretty high?" Cassie shrugged, looking up as she shielded her eyes. Turning her attention back to Layla, Cassie's eyes went wide with a clear indication of an idea. A very dangerous thing at times considering who it was.
"Hey! Why don't I take you up there? You could see it! And we can measure the distance." Cassie was practically bouncing with anticipation. Flying was, after all, one of Cassie's favorite past times. Getting to take someone flying? That was just as good. Cassie believed everyone should experience it at least once in their life. Airplanes were one thing. Open air flying was entirely different.

"Uhhhh." Layla couldn't help it. She took a full step back from the blonde. "I don't think that's such a good idea." It wasn't that she was scared of heights or anything, but it was one thing to think about it in terms of roller coasters or flying or something like that. Trusting Cassie to lift her up that high was honestly too much to ask right off the bat. Layla would rather go with the experiment and figure out a way to measure it to make it work.
"Why don't we just find a way to measure it. Maybe there's an app or something to measure it without trying to figure out about a tape measure or something?" That could be a thing. Hopefully. And then they could work out calculations and how to make it fit the assignment without hurting anyone or causing damage somewhere.
