"Honestly, if you can save my paper and my grade, it'll be well worth it." It would put a dent in his savings for sure, but that was what savings were for. Emergencies didn't always have to mean the hospital or death or something extreme. It could just as easily mean the loss of his writing, which was in part a piece of himself. Maybe it wouldn't be such a stretch to categorize it as an emergency. Just instead of a people doctor, he went to a computer doctor.
