If there was anything about Madison Valley that was reliable it was the one week rule. A week to get through something, a week to see, a week to hold on to hope. More than five years in this place had taught him to believe in that if nothing else. It was always a week.
And so a week had gone by and Summer wasn't back and as much as Steve wanted to hold onto the hope that she'd be back, he knew better.
Going for a ride with Bucky didn't exactly take his mind off of it but it was the closest thing to that they were going to get.
"I know that it does," he assured with a heavy sigh, the loss wasn't easy on him, never was, but it wasn't something he hadn't experienced before. "Not overnight but...it will."
