WHO: Dream & Setsuna. WHAT: Running into dinosaurs. WHEN: April 1st [backdated]. WHERE: In town. WARNINGS: Cuteness mostly. A bit of violence. And dinos! STATUS: Closed/Started in gdocs, continuing in comments.
Setsuna had left the house. She wasn’t exactly worried by anything going on. This place was just strange. She hadn’t heard of much going on yet, so she left the house. The girls were on their own adventures so Setsuna felt, she might as well explore what was going on. She had no desire to play this Elevator Game. She was in a way, from Japan after all. Weird spiritual games usually led to weird villains showing up.
So while she wasn’t worried about anything she was still going out.
But she’d done it as Sailor Pluto because well.
You never knew.
She was busy checking out a small friendly looking dodo, unaware of the terror bird creeping up right behind her. How she hadn’t seen him, even she wouldn’t know, she’d been focused on the dodo.
Dream hadn't really planned on participating in this little game either. He wasn't afraid of any weird villains showing up or anything like that, he just simply wasn't really interested.
He was, however, interested in seeing Setsuna as he hadn't today. So after he did his duties and the Dreaming and made sure things would be okay if he stepped out for a bit, he headed outside to visit her. He'd popped in nearby where she was, just in time to see her interacting with some small bird-like creature.
And then there was a more vicious looking one sneaking up behind her. Without waiting a second, he suddenly appeared right next to her and grabbed her arm, moving her out of the way just in time as the terror bird attacked, narrowly missing her.
She spun as he grabbed her, ready to strike but seeing it was him she relaxed and let him pull her away. She watched as the Terror Bird took out the dodo instead of her.
“Damn. That could have hurt.” She didn't swear much but this time she felt it was warranted. “Thank you, my dear.” She readjusted the grip on her staff, as the creature turned to save them.
“This place!” She exclaimed, then stepped away from him, leveling the staff at the creature, “Deaf Scream” she said, her eyes narrowed. It looked like it wanted to eat her.
"I'm sure it would've," Dream nodded as he watched the Terror Bird attack the poor dodo. But truthfully, he didn't really care. He only cared for Setsuna and getting her out of danger. That was all that mattered to him. "Of course," he replied, giving her a small smile.
And while he wanted to protect her and keep her safe, he knew she was a warrior in her own right. So when she attacked with her staff, he simply stood aside and let her do her thing, knowing she could take care of herself. He'd only intervene if he had to.
She stepped back to lean against him, resting the staff against her leg. Maroon eyes closed as she tried to listen for any others. He was doing well for a man used to bundling up those he cared about and putting them in a safe place. He'd let her step up.
“I guess that elevator brought dinosaurs?” She wasn't sure if there was anything else out there but he was here, she'd be fine.
He certainly had wanted to grab her and take her away from the terror bird. But as he watched her attack with her staff and defeat it, it was clear that there was no need and that she had handled herself quite well.
"Looks like it," he replied. How strange, yet not surprising. This was Madison Valley, after all. Strange things happened quite often in this little town. "Hopefully there's no more coming through or anything else dangerous." He definitely did not want anything to come through that could harm her.
