Rowan Fricks and Mitsuko Souma
Rowan nodded, “Especially when the list is this long. Also, I don’t know about you, but I don’t really want to see what happens if someone hits the wrong numbers.” While Rowan was curious on what might happen, she didn’t want to be the test dummy on finding out. Nope, someone else could be that lucky person. Rowan was curious; however, she wasn’t an idiot and after everything, she didn’t want to go pushing her luck by looking for trouble by being stupid. Her smarts had kept her alive, and she wanted to keep it that way. If she knew it was going to open to a place with puppies, then fine, but she didn’t know what trouble was waiting and wanted to have a quick escape if it was needed.
“I think you’re going to find a lot of people are playing this game because of being curious. I could be wrong, but it’s the not knowing what people might encounter mixed with the small town boredom that will be bringing people around.” It was like back home. Everyone knew the places to avoid, which only made the kids go around it because it meant they were away from the viewing eyes of adults. Rowan used to avoid the Grotto until recently, but her being curious about what the big deal had drawn her in just like this place did now.
Entering the elevator, she looked at the picture to hit the first number once the other girl was in. While the doors shutting and moving, she held out her hand. “I’m Rowan by the way. I forgot to introduce myself.”
