Lorna's labor and delivery had been difficult to help with. Her powers had flexed against his with more power than he'd ever felt and she didn't seem to get tired the same way he did. Maybe he hadn't been stretching himself enough here in Madison Valley, he was going to have to change that. He'd been able to hold out against her until close to the end then his powers felt stretched and slow to respond leaving hers to cause more havoc. He could lift a nuclear submarine with ease but the fine control needed to clamp down on what Lorana was doing was so much harder.
After it was all over and the baby was safely delivered Erik had left. He was too stubborn to ask for help and it wasn't until he was around halfway home that he realized he was in worse shape than he had thought but he stubbornly continued to make his way home. By the time he was getting close to home his head hurt so bad he could barely think and he ended up sitting on a retaining wall at the edge of a lawn to wait to see if it would subside.
When it didn't he pulled his phone out to text for help but he was squinting at the light coming from the screen so he didn't type very well.
