What: Team Cockroach meeting. Well, half of them.
Where: Lou's because Jason needs drinks.
When: Thursday, March 21. Evening.

Jason wasn't completely sure how he felt about Madison Valley. All he had really learned that it was neither the Good Place nor the Bad Place, and at the moment? That was enough for him. He wasn't even certain he wanted to be in the Good Place. Or the Bad Place. So here in Madison Valley was enough. And they had booze, which was epic.

There were plenty of places for Jason to choose from to get alcohol. He'd already gone to Verdant and the Den of Dionysus, and Lou's was the next on his list. It wasn't too bad of a place, really, this Lou's. It was a bit of a hole in the wall of a bar, and he kind of liked it.

It was more laid back than the other two places he'd been to, at least. That was good, if one was looking for laid back. Which he might be tonight. He wasn't really looking for a club atmosphere.

Eleanor was already inside, chowing down on some chili cheese fries while she waited for Jason to show up. She wasn't really sure how to deal with him or Chidi being around, but it was nice to not be alone here anymore, and to have her friends around. She'd missed them all, though it wasn't like she'd really admit that very much.

As she washed down her food with a beer, Eleanor glanced at the door and saw Jason walk in, and shook her head. He was such a crazy spaz, but it was still forking good to see him. Lifting a hand, she waved at him.

"Over here!"

Jason spotted Eleanor easily. After all the time they'd spent together, it was easy enough to do. Unless, of course, Michael decided to wipe all of their memories. Which was more than possible. But Michael wasn't here, or so Jason had been told.

He smiled brightly when Eleanor waved him over, and he started toward her. "This is dope, man!" he exclaimed as he approached. He wasn't dead. He wasn't in the Good Place or the Bad Place. And Eleanor and Chidi were here. He could have only been happier if they had ended up in Jacksonville.

Not some podunk town in Indiana.

His enthusiasm was infectious, and she couldn't help but laugh when he reached her. "Yeah, right? At least we're not dead. Or...living in our second lives without knowing each other. That's what that deal was, right?"

Honestly, she wasn't sure she'd followed everything Chidi had tried to tell her about what happened after the Judge's tests, and also whatever Jason had added, but for now? Eleanor was okay with just being alive. She wasn't trying to be a better person, but she was trying to get by somehow.

"You doing okay in this place?"

Jason couldn't help but be enthusiastic. It was just in his nature. People considered him to be dumb, but that was just how he was. He couldn't help himself. Enthusiastic and seemingly stupid, that was Jason Mendoza.

"I am so glad not to be dead," he said after a moment. Being dead was the worst experience of his life, really. Though he was sure a lot of people could say that. Would say that.

He nodded in response to Eleanor's question. "I like it here. I like being alive." That was really all Jason needed to be happy. To be alive.

Jason reached over and stole some fries off of Eleanor's plate. Because he had a feeling that she wouldn't mind a tiny bit of fry theft. Or he hoped she wouldn't. He shook his head at the woman's question.

"I have no idea." After all, he hadn't been in town for too terribly long. He was just trying to adjust to not being dead, to being in a small town in Indiana. It was a lot to take in.

"What are you doing, then?"
