Amy & Chris
The compliment made Amy smile. She was grateful that Chris hadn't been pushing her, though his understanding only made her feel more guilty about things. "Thank you for inviting me," she said. "I know we haven't spent much time together lately, but I'm glad to be here with you."

Seeing that there were people who made comfortable lives for themselves here was good for her. It gave her hope that she could do the same.
