It had been a little bizarre to go through the portal to find snow on the other side but there was very little in her life now that wasn't strange in some way. It was nice to get away from Madison Valley, even if it was by stepping through a portal into the history of her own world. Not exactly how she'd imagined going to New York but it was still good to get away for a few hours.
Life had felt busy lately, Daisy felt like she'd barely had time to spend with those most important to her. It was one of the reasons why she'd made sure to find some time to take this small trip with Wash. She felt like she'd been neglecting him, getting a little too absorbed in her work and she didn't want to risk ruining what she had with him for that. She was happy with him, happier than she'd been in a long time and that was scary for her. Life had taught her that when things seemed good the rug would be pulled out from under you and you'd lose everything. She was trying not to think about that but it wasn't always easy.
Daisy had done a little bit of research, she didn't want them to stick out too much so she'd looked into what kind of clothing was era appropriate and found something she thought she could pull off.
Walking the streets of New York was definitely a nice change, not that she had any problem with how they usually spent their time together. As they walked she found herself thinking about things she wasn't sure she should, about what kind of future they might have. Even though she'd been in Madison a year she was still hesitant to actually make plans and build a life. Things could change in a moment and she didn't like the idea of losing too much. Daisy realized she'd been quiet for a while, lost in her own thoughts and that really wasn't the point of this little trip. She glanced over at Wash with an apologetic smile on her face. "Where should we go?" she asked him, they hadn't made plans before coming through the portal and now they were here they should probably figure that out.
