WHO: Terezi & Valkyrie.
WHAT: Random meeting.
WHEN: Monday.
WHERE: In town.
WARNINGS: Language.
STATUS: Closed/Completed Gdoc.
Valkyrie was sitting on the edge of the fountain, one knee up to her chest, one leg dangling lazily. She was tired, this place was boring even with the sharks, and she wasn't sure what she could do to shake things up more.
She sipped from her mug of coffee, then tossed a snow ball into the air with her other hand, then moved with inhuman speed to skin and kick it back into the fountain with a faint splash, before landing back in the same position she'd been in.
***
Terezi kind of liked the sharks. They had sharp teeth like she once had back home, before they turned into normal boring human teeth. She still hated that she was still somewhat human in some ways. Sure, she had the grey skin back and she still had her teal colored blood. But she missed having sharp teeth and her horns most of all.
But the sharks were gone, as well as delicious falling pasta. Everything was back to normal, but at least it was still nice and cold out. She definitely preferred the cold, so she headed out for a quick walk before she was due for work. She ended up near a fountain and came just in time to see a woman do some awesome trick.
"How'd you do that?" she asked. "That was fucking cool."
***
She looked up then shrugged, “Boredom, extra speed and practice.” She said honestly as she looked the girl over. Skin color didn't phase her much. She'd seen weirder shades on Sakaar.
“It was just a snowball though nothing fancy.” She protested just a little, she tried not to show off much because she kept her talents under wraps unless she was training with the Hulk.
“I can do it again if you want?”
***
"Extra speed, huh? Are you like one of those people with super abilities or some shit?" Terezi asked. She wouldn't be surprised if she was. She knew a few people had extra speed or extra strength or whatever. Even back home, John could do the Windy Thing and Dave could use time powers. Terezi herself had mind abilities but they weren't as cool or interesting.
"And if you're willing, sure. Maybe I can get a better sniff at it this time." And by sniff, she totally meant a better look.
***
“I'm Asgardian, so I think that falls into that category.” She wasn't trying to be snarky it just happened. She was at least not rude about it, just amused.
She formed another snowball, threw it into the air, planted her hand on the stone, threw herself up, caught it with her foot and sent it launching. Landing easily back where she'd been.
***
Terezi just gave the woman a confused look. "The fuck is an Asgardian? Some type of guardian?" she asked. She wasn't too sure. All she knew was that apparently this Asgardians or whatever they were seemed to have extra speed or something. Maybe more, but so far, she only seen the speed part.
She sniffed the air as Valkyrie performed the trick again. "Awesome," she grinned. "What if I threw a snowball instead?"
***
“God like race, Thor was here for awhile, I'm from his home.” She was also older than him. Gross. Feeling old sucked.
She shifted, and looked at the girl, “sure, if your want to. I'll be able to hit it no problem.” It was amusing, really.
***
"So they don't guard asses? Okay, gotcha," Terezi nodded before she paused a moment. Thor. The named sounded familiar somehow, but after going through her memories, she only figured she'd seen him around the network a few times. That was all she could recall at the moment. "Don't think I really know him, but I might've heard of him before."
She grinned and quickly made a snowball and tossing it into the air. Only she didn't stop there and, without letting Valkyrie know, she made a second and third snowball and tossing them into the air as well. She wanted to see if the woman could hit all three.
***
She laughed. “No” then she shrugged, “he's not here now though he was. No problem.” She waved a hand lazily before she moved.
Three was easy though she had to adjust to get the third. She didn't mind, though, it was a good workout.
***
"That's too bad he's gone now," Terezi frowned a bit. She still missed Tom a lot, but she was slowly moving on. She even went to the dance with Kurt and had a pretty good time. But she was quick to move on and she had a feeling Valkyrie didn't mind either.
She grinned as the woman got all three snowballs. "That is fucking cool. Wish I could do that, but I'm no Asgardian." Nah, she was just a troll and not a very interesting one at that. At least Sollux had psiioniic powers. She was just good at playing mindtricks and she didn't think that was interesting.
***
Valkyrie settled back down on the fountain edge and smirked a little. “Thanks, I think, it’s kind of fun really. And a good work out.” she waved a hand lazily then leaned back on her hands and just relaxed a little.
“Anyone can do at least one, you just need to practice. It’s no different than kicking a ball or something like that.” she said with a shrug.
***
"Yeah, I heard workouts are good for you." Terezi wasn't so sure about that, though. People always seemed so tired and exhausted after and she wondered why they kept doing it or even doing it in the first place. But apparently, it felt good too? Humans sure are weird.
"What about a blind person?" she asked, pointing to her red glasses. "Would they be able to hit at least one snowball?"
***
“I wouldn't see why not. Most blind folk have other senses that compensate, so if your good at hearing you can listen and use that. It might take someone a little longer to learn but it's not impossible.” She shrugged a little.
She'd unknown enough to know people's senses compensated for the loss of another.
***
"I use my sense of smell and taste to navigate that world," Terezi told her. "I'm sure I can probably sniff out the snowball." Her nose was the best, in her opinion. She could even smell when people are lying. Or maybe she was just tricking them. With Terezi, it was hard to tell when she was messing around or when she was actually serious.
"I never really tried hearing before, though, but sometimes I can hear things other people can't."
***
Valk sat back and leaned on her hands. “Oh that’s interesting. Then you should be able to find a way to do something similar. If you navigate by smell, eveyrthing has a smell, you should be able to learn what the snow of the area you’re in smells like and learn to find it in the air.” she was a confident person.
She tended to believe everyone should be.
“That’s handy.”
***
Terezi nodded. "I've been blind since I was about ten." Well, in human years, anyway. She'd been around four sweeps old back home, but they didn't use sweeps here. "I've pretty much gotten the hang of the whole smelling thing, but I still make mistakes sometimes," she shrugged. It happened, no one was perfect. But she still thought her sense of smell was amazing.
"Yeah, it's definitely been helpful a few times."
***
Valkyrie nodded, “I would imagine so. How many times do people who see missee things?” she shrugged a little. “I suppose if you ever want help learning such things, You can reach out to me I wouldn’t mind.”
She smiled. What she hoped was in a friendly fashion. It probably wasn’t as much as she wanted, but Terezi couldnt see it anyway, but she’d hear the attempt.
**
"You're definitely right about that. I know people with perfect vision who miss things." Both literally and figuratively. She wasn't surprised, though. Most people don't really 'look' from what she knew. Most of her friends could be so blind and oblivious, it was frustrating sometimes.
"Yeah? Maybe I will." She knew of the attempt and she appreciated it. "For now, I should probably get going or I'm gonna be late for work. It was nice meeting you, Asgardian Lady."
