WHO: John Young and OPEN WHAT: Heading home and worrying WHEN: Today WHERE: Downtown WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Closed/Ongoing
Ever since Jedikiah had arrived, John had been on edge. He'd liked living in a place that was far removed from Ultra, and now that the man had arrived, he couldn't say that anymore. Sure, he didn't have the resources of Ultra, and he was only one man. But he still believed that there was a great deal Jedikiah could do if he wanted to. He was smart and resourceful, and sometimes that was all you needed to make an entire mess of things.
His feelings towards Jedikiah were also complicated and confusing. He hated him for what he'd done to him. He hated the fact that he alone of all of his people was able to kill. He'd been made into a weapon, broken and abused, and he'd never forgive the man for that. He'd killed John's friends, forced him to suffer in ways that nobody ever should. And yet...he'd rescued him from a horrible situation and John had been young enough at the time that he'd looked to him for a time as a father. And as much as he fervently denied that he was Jedikiah's son, the man was really the only father figure he'd ever known.
He'd done what he could in warning everyone. Now they would just need to keep an eye on him and make sure that he didn't start doing anything that could lead to violence. There were enough of them here, and enough with powers even stronger than his own, that he believed that they could still be safe. He hoped.
He'd stopped to pick up a sandwich at subway, and now that he had it, he was headed home. He could have teleported - probably should have, with how cold it was, but he needed the time to think, and maybe the cold would freeze his brain into relaxing, or at least help things make sense again. So he was slowly walking the sidewalk back towards his apartment, hoping that things would stay as peaceful as they had been. But part of him couldn't help but worry that Jedikiah's arrival had ruined everything.
