Who: Enjolras and OTA What: Learning everything possible about the last 187 years When: Saturday morning Where: The public library
The internet had proven to be a fascinating thing. It was a wealth of information. Literally anything he needed to know was at his fingertips. And videos. There were so many videos. Clips of real things that had happened, dramatizations of things that were from before the invention of film. And most things could be translated into French. His English was good and was improving daily, but sometimes it was simply more comfortable to read and get aquainted with his native language.
Despite that, he found himself still most comfortable in the warmth of a real book. That was something that hadn't changed much in the last two hundred years. The feel of a hard cover in his hands, paper pages on his fingers. That familiar smell that comforted him. The quality had improved tenfold, but the general feeling was still the same.
So he'd been in the library more often than not. Book after book, page after page. He was desperate to learn everything he'd missed. Logically he knew it was impossible, but Enjolras had never been one to back down from a challenge. In fact, he was typically the one to issue said challenge.
He had just put a book about the solar system back in its place on the shelf and picked up one about the last forty-four American presidents. He was on his way back to the corner where he'd been reading - he quite liked the little corner with all the cushioned chairs - when he bumped into a chair sticking out a bit further than he'd have liked. He dropped the book and looked a bit sheepish as he picked it up. "Sorry," he murmured in a loud whisper to the person closest to him. Even in 2019, libraries were meant to be a quiet place.
