Who: Kim Possible, Zatanna Zatara and Will Herondale
What: an entirely embarrassing day
Where: training terrain
When: some afternoon
Warnings: not really
Status: in progress, started in gdocs, continues in comments
Despite her promises to Will to show up at the training academy, Kim had definitely been avoiding Training Terrain. She brushed it off as simply being too busy, needing to spend time on her other priorities like school and cheerleading and spending time with her pseudo family. It was definitely great having a sister, that much she knew without a shadow of a doubt. Still, said sister was sometimes annoying and when she'd pointed out that she'd been avoiding her favorite gym.
So she bucked up and got her shit together and headed for Training Terrain like there wasn't anything wrong. That was a big fat lie because she still felt super embarrassed for completely missing the fact that Will was in love with Zatanna or whatever. He hadn't had any interest in her and that had been a hard pill to swallow because she'd been mortified. She usually made a fool out of herself around guys but this one was definitely the worst one. The worst one ever and she had a plan to pretend like it had never happened.
She didn't make a big deal of it as she got in and took her place to run the course. The closer she got to it being her time to run, she felt more antsy, jittery. She had to ace this. Otherwise it was going to be super embarrassing. All that pressure built up and when it was her turn, Kim exploded off the starting line. She was feeling super confident as she went through the first part of the course but instead of stopping for a brief rest at the transition like she normally would, she kept her momentum going.
That had been a mistake and she fell off the obstacle, landing awkwardly on her ankle. "Unf." She had to bite her lip to stop from cursing. Her entire face turned crimson as she realized a bunch of people were now looking at her. Fuck.

Zee was monitoring the course today, she was absent minded as she'd been trying to help Will settle into a new life without Tessa or Jem. Normally she'd have called out a reminder to rest but she was looking elsewhere until she heard someone fall. She'd cheated, of course, and set up a system to monitor each with magic so she'd know what happened where, so she was able to find where Kim had fallen quickly.
She also used her magic to get over the course without picking her way through it or getting in other people's way. She pushed her hair back as she landed neatly next to the young women. “Are you alright?”
She waved her hand at the people looking, shooing them away, blue eyes focusing back on Kim. “Here let's get you up and see what's up and go from there.”

Of course it was Zatanna who came to her side. It couldn't have been Wash or York. Nope. It had to be Will's girlfriend or whatever. Maybe they were married by this point, she thought rudely, although she hoped that only pain showed on her face. Kim glanced down at her ankle just to be sure that her mean thoughts wouldn't register. She was mostly mad at herself anyhow.
"I'm fine, I'm fine," she replied, trying to brush it off. It definitely wasn't fine and both Shuri and Alex were going to read her the riot act, but that would be infinitely easier to handle. Having the very person that she hadn't even realized was in Will's life like that be the one helping her? That was so embarrassing. "Just landed awkwardly. I probably just need to walk it off." Lies on top of lies.

Zee had no idea and she frowned a little, she could tell something was bugging her but she really had no idea what it could be. “You can’t fool me, I’ve been injured enough and have seen enough of my teammates injured. Come on let’s get you off the course.” though she stepped back to allow her to try to walk it off on her own. Figuring if anything she’d need to figure out for herself that wasn’t going to work as well as planned.
She stayed within reach, though, to ensure she was able to catch her if she did fall. “We’ll make sure you’re alright, but I insist we check.” Zee was nothing if not responsible and she had to make sure for their insurance reasons, also, that she was okay. But she was genuinely concerned, that was just how Zee worked.

With Zee on the course watching out for things, Will had decided that he could do a single run without worrying about things. He was trusting Zee to be on top of stuff and the idea of a run sounded energizing - a good coping mechanism instead of the alcohol he wanted to use to numb the worry about Jem and Tessa. So standing at the beginning of the course, he looked out, wondering where Zee was. Normally she was perched nearby - though he knew she used magic as much as her eyes to monitor things.
Spying her, Will frowned slightly. Something was going on and he was trying to figure what it was. Taking off from the start line, he headed into the course. It took him about fifteen minutes before he got to where Zee was and then he noticed who she was watching. Will immediately went bright red. It was Kim and he was still embarrassed that he had led her on.
But he set that aside as he came up to them and looked between them, “What’s going on?” he inquired, hands on his hips as he considered the situation, seeing if he could piece things together.
***l.
Kim really wanted to be able to fool Zatanna. She was a spy for crying out loud. Personal experience would always trump that and before she had a chance to really argue, the other woman was agreeing to let her try to stand on her own. Kim was careful about not putting weight on her foot as she did so, and by the time she was standing - and steadfastly not touching Zatanna - Will showed up.
"Nothing," Kim replied quickly, a little too quickly. She'd put her foot down with her weight on it to act like nothing really was wrong and it sent immense pain up her leg. "Owwwwww." Nope, something was definitely wrong. She didn't want to look at Will so she looked at Zatanna, only she didn't really want to talk to Zatanna either. "It's fine. I'll be fine." She looked passed the other woman and took a step forward, wincing visibly as she moved. She'd definitely sprained her ankle. At best.

Zatanna looked up as Will arrived and smiled a little. “Hey, she landed wrong.” she said carefully before looking at Will’s face, brows furrowing as she looked between the two trying to figure out what exactly she was missing. Zee’d spent most of her life getting into fights, and pulling teammates to safety, she had far too much experience for her own tastes. But it did come in handy.
“Nothing?” one brow arched sharply upwards as she watched the pain flicker across Kim’s face, she didn’t believe her in the least. “Mm, I really must insist we get you looked at.” she said, firmly, not wanting to let her slink away while she was obviously in pain. “I can wrap give your ankle a once over and make sure it’s not broken, then wrap and ice.”
***
Pushing aside his embarrassment at having, unintentionally or not, led Kim on, Will nodded with Zee’s assessment of Kim’s injury. “Zee’s right Kim,” Will stated, arms crossing over his chest as he watched the pain slide across Kim’s face. “You can barely stand. Just walking on it doesn’t prove anything.”
Deciding that they were going to have to bully her into accepting some help, Will moved over and took Kim’s arm and draped it over his shoulder. “And better yet, being an idiot about it only means making it worse. That doesn’t prove anything.” Will wrapped an arm around her waist and looked at Zee.
“Let’s get her somewhere we can better look at this.”

Kim definitely wanted the floor to open up and swallow her right then and there. Anything to get out of this situation because it was horribly embarrassing. Even more so when Will moved to her side and just went right ahead to position her so that he was supporting some of her weight. Instinctively, she leaned toward him and it did feel better on her ankle.
"It's not broken," she settled on as her reply. It didn't hurt enough to be broken, she didn't think. Plus, it couldn't be broken. She was Cheer Captain and a sprain would be bad enough. "And I'm not being an idiot." Kim had to physically bite the inside of her cheek to refrain from calling him an idiot because that would've just been childish and immature. "Just let me call Alex and she can take me to the clinic." Because she wanted out of Training Terrain as quickly as possible.
***
She smirked a little because she was sure Will would be just as stubborn as Kim was being. While he got her leaning on him to get the weight off that ankle, Zee spoke quietly, “ceiffo ym ot rood a nepo” a glowing edged door appearing before them.
She pulled it open and stood back to let them go through first, watching them for a moment..”We can do that too. Will, the couch is cleared, prop that ankle up and she can call Alex. I'll grab ice for her.”
***
Without a moment of hesitation, Will nodded and helped Kim through. “I know you can be sensible,” Will commented, and then continued, “I shouldn’t have called you an idiot. I just don’t like seeing you - seeing anyone hurt.” He made sure she didn’t put any weight on the ankle, lifting her slightly as he got her into the office, which at least no longer looked as if he was living there - thanks to Zee’s intervention.
Soon he had her sitting down on the sofa. Without asking her if she wanted it, he helped her turn and rest her ankle up on the couch. Crouching down so that he was at her eye level, Will looked her in the eye, before he got the phone for her, “Promise me you’ll get it looked out. Don’t…” Will took a deep breath and let it out, “don’t be the ass I would and ignore it.”

Zatanna's display of magic gave Kim something else to focus on, even if she really did not want to focus on either of the two adults. When the portal appeared, it looked like it was to some kind of office but it wasn't the clinic as far as she could tell. She couldn't say she trusted it, but she didn't really have a choice as WIll helped her through it. He wasn't exactly helping any other way though, and the unimpressed look she gave him said as much.
"I actually care about myself, so I won't be ignoring it," Kim replied curtly. It wasn't fair to be mad at Will, but she was. This was all his fault, anyway. Now she definitely wasn't coming back to this stupid place. She'd just have to go look at the other gym or something. "You can go now." She didn't need a babysitter who didn't care about her, or only cared because he had to. He'd said as much. Kim continued to glare at him and didn't make a move to actually call Alex.
***
Once through Zee closed the portal, made an ice pack appear and then stopped to actually read what was going on here. "Okay, I missed something and I have no idea what? Someone care to enlighten me as to why she's giving you the icy look and you're still beet red?"
Blue eyes narrowed as she looked between them, remembering she had the ice pack in hand and gave it to Kim. She felt like she walked into a mine field.
