After having breakfast with her and Shawn’s son, Liz wasn’t surprised when Emily showed up by lunch time. She was thrilled to see the girl again and didn’t let go of her for a few minutes. She’d missed her so much and didn’t realize it until the moment they saw her. The two took some time to catch up as Liz got ready to go out then they headed out and went to Hinkles to grab lunch. They didn’t eat it there, though. Instead they took it where Emily’s father lived so they could surprise him and have lunch with him. It was Saturday so they knew he would be at home. Wanting to go for maximum shock, Liz left Emily alone at the door and stood out of sight as she knocked. She couldn’t wait to see the look on his face.

It was his day off, so Stilinski was getting some stuff done around the house; he was in the middle of unloading the dishwasher when a knock came at the door. Curious, he went to answer it.
The person standing there was a familiar, welcome face.
“Emily!” She was a staple by now of the children returning, one he was always glad to see. One that would never be because both he and Liz were committed to others, but one that he was not confused by in the least.

“Hi daddy! I’m back” Emily said with a smile as she moved in to hug him. Liz let them embrace for a moment before she came out from where she was hiding to snap a picture. She always took a lot of pictures whenever Emily was there to held hold onto their memories of her being there.
“Hope you’re hungry. We got enough to feed an army” Liz told him with a smile a she walked over to join the two of them. Alright it wasn’t that much but it would be enough to keep the three of them good and filled for the afternoon.
“We got you favorite just how you like it” Their daughter added on as she pulled back.

“Of course you did,” he said to the both of them, laughing as he stepped back to let them in. “Come on, get in here before the food gets cold.”
He gestured for the two of them to sit in the living room before he went to grab plates. He was back a moment later, joining them. “It’s really good to see you again, sweetheart,” he said as he set the plates down. He looked to Liz. “Has she been here long?”
He hoped he hadn’t missed too much.

The girls walked in upon his invite and took their coats off after handing him the food. Once their shoes were off, they walked into the living room and sat down, making themselves at home. It was easy since they’d al spent a lot of time where over the years whenever Emily visited.
“It’s good to see you too, dad” Emily told him with a smile, reaching over to give him a hug before she leaned down and began to put the food on the plates for them.
“She just arrived not too long ago, actually. Probably about a half hour to forty five minutes ago” Liz told him with a smile, assuring him that he hadn’t missed too much.
“I have a new brother. His name is Parker” Emily told him, handing John a plate with him burger and fries on it.
***
“Oh, really?” he said, taking the plate from her with a smile. “Well, you’ve got your brother Noah again, but that’s it for siblings from me. Tell me about Parker. What’s he like?”
He was just as interested in the rest of Emily’s life as he was in the life of Mason’s daughter; having Sunday pop up again had been a little… startling. Enjoyable, but startling. His friends’ kids all mattered to him, no matter who they were.
“Is he older than you or younger?” he asked as a starter.
***
“Oh good. I would miss him if he wasn’t here” Emily told him with a smile of her own as she served her mom next. She wasn’t too okay with the idea of having a little brother during her first trip there but after a few trips she got used to the idea and now she loved having him around. That made meeting Parker a lot easier this time around.
“He’s younger. Seven. Named after mom’s maiden name” She explained as she handed Liz her plate next before grabbing one for herself, filling it as she talked. “He’s pretty quiet so I don’t know much about him yet but he doesn't like school very much. He must get that from his dad and Maya”
Emily, of course, loved school.
***
He laughed. “Well, a lot of kids don’t like school. You can’t really hold it against him,” he teased, knowing his daughter was doing no such thing.
“Speaking of, how are you doing in school?” It wasn’t like he’d ever get to ask her that question -- well, not him personally -- so he’d have to ask it and make it count. “Hopefully you’re doing well.”
He knew she would be. She had her mother’s sharp intellect. Not that she wasn’t like him in a lot of ways, but in that one? She took after Liz.
***
"I'm getting all straight A's" Emily told him proudly as she grabbed a fry and put it in her mouth.
"That's our girl" Liz replied with a proud smile from where she sat. Emily was inbetween them so she could talk to them equally.
"I still like English better than Science, though. But only a little bit" Emily told her mom as she looked over at her with a smile.
