Cassie honestly hadn't spent more than five minutes with the little girl. Once she'd realized that the kid was from the old west and Briar was her father? She'd basically handed her off and fled the scene. It wasn't exactly something she was proud of, but she still did not like the kid.
"You say that now," Cassie told him, although she wasn't nearly as tense about it as she could have been. Maybe that was some slight improvement.
"Papaaaaaa!" Astrid was not pleased with how slowly her father was moving. She had to be prim and proper outside the house - or at least their property - but she could be a little less refined at home. "They have sky scrapings here!" Alex had been telling her all about the super tall buildings. "And there's ways for people to fly!"
