Weiss had always been the first one awake. While Fred and Ron tended to sleep on, especially on a Saturday, she was already up and making coffee. So her day had started like typically, only she awake by the noise of ... children's laughter? Was she hearing things correctly? Maybe she was still dreaming. That was her first thought. Another was maybe Fred or Ron had left the television on all night.
She got out of bed, putting on her bathrobe and slippers before quietly making her way into the living room. When she turned on the lights, she saw something quite unexpected. There, on the floor in front of the couch, were two little redheaded boys who looked alike. One of them saw her and ran to hug her.
"Mommy!"
Mommy?! That was weird, but it didn't take Weiss too long to figure it out. "Uh... hi?" She wasn't sure what else to say and she ended up yelling "FRED!" loudly enough to wake him.
***
Fred groaned softly when he heard Weiss call his name. Well, more than call his name. She was yelling his name. Something had to be wrong if she was yelling for him. He got out of bed, and wandered into the room he assumed Weiss was in. And immediately stopped and stared. A pair of redheaded twin boys. “Oh, Merlin’s beard,” he murmured softly.
He’d heard of strange things happening in Madison Valley, he’d experienced strange things happening in this town. But this was the first time he’d ever encountered future children. He knew these were his children. They had the same red hair, and they were twins.
“Hello, gentlemen,” he said as casually as he could. “Are you harassing your mother before her coffee?” Because he assumed Weiss was their mother. Who else would be?
***
Weiss wasn't quite sure what to do or even think about this. She never planned on having children. Not right now, at least, but who knew in the future. But certainly not at this very moment, but now there were not one but two little boys who apparently thought she was their mom.
And Weiss being, well, herself, she folded her arms and maintained a calm composure, even though inside she was freaking out. She glanced over at Fred when he came into the living room, giving him a questioning look as if asking 'what is going on?'.
One of the boys stopped playing and frowned. "Oh, I'm sorry, Mommy! I'll make you a cup of coffee! Daddy, can we make Mommy some coffee?" he asked, running over to Fred. The other boy didn't seem to care or notice. He just kept playing and being loud.
***
Fred noted the look Weiss gave him, and just shrugged. “Madison Valley,” he offered as an explanation. He then grinned at the boy who came up to him, asking about coffee. “Of course we can make Mommy some coffee.” He was handling this better than he thought he would. But there was the small problem of not knowing the boys’ names. And not knowing how to ask them their names.
He pointed to the boy who was continuing to play and be loud and ignore the whole coffee situation, “As long as your brother helps us.”
The child in question looked up and gave his father an exasperated look. “My name is Wade,” he said. “And you call yourself our father.” Fred had to laugh at the child’s words, and just shook his head. “Fine, Wade. You are going to help us make your mother coffee.”
***
Weiss just sighed. Right, of course. Madison Valley and it's stupid magic Dome. What else could it be?
Oh well. Fred seemed to be handling it fine. Weiss herself still wasn't sure what she should be doing. While she had a younger brother, their relationship was cold and aloof, just like it was with the rest of her family. She didn't really know how to show affection to kids, so she was okay with letting Fred handle them for now.
"I wanna help!" the other twin said. He seemed a bit on the quiet side. Weiss figured he must be more like her. "And my name's Wyatt in case you forgot. Cause it seems like you did."
***
Fred had to laugh once more at Wyatt’s words. “Sorry, kid,” he said, ruffling the redhead’s hair. “It’s early, and we haven’t had our coffee yet. Don’t hold it against us.” He wandered into the kitchen, with the young twins following him. “We should probably get some breakfast too, huh?” He started rummaging through the cabinets, locating the coffee. Because coffee was what was important at the moment. “Okay, Wyatt, you want to help? Take the pot for the coffee, and fill it with water.” Because water was an important part of coffee making.
“And what do you lot want for breakfast?” he asked. “Eggs and bacon sound good to me.” Because he liked bacon and eggs, he assumed that the boys would as well. “Do you want pancakes as well? Maybe waffles.” He was just thinking out loud, trying to figure out what to make for breakfast.
“Have you two seen your uncle Ron? Is he still sleeping?”
***
"Do grown ups really need coffee to remember their kids names?" Wyatt asked, though before either Fred or Weiss could answer, he was already gone to grab and fill up with pot with some water.
"I want pancakes with lots of syrup and blueberries!" he said. "I love blueberries!" Which Weiss figured he probably got that from her. Before she could comment, though, she'd notice the water was overflowing from the coffee pot.
"Wyatt, be careful. You're spilling the water," she told him, a bit sternly. She didn't want them to make a huge mess. Because it meant she and Fred would be the ones cleaning it up. Wyatt turned and saw, turning off the tap. "Oops, sorry, Mommy. Here Daddy," he picked up the pot and handed it to Fred.
At the mention of his uncle, Wyatt shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe. Should we go wake him up?"
***
“Grown ups always need coffee, Wyatt. For everything. Especially in the mornings.” He offered the young boy a small smile as he spoke, and reached over to ruffle Wyatt’s hair. “Especially your mother.” He grinned at Weiss at this, he was only teasing her. He liked to tease her. She should know this by now.
He took the coffee pot from Wyatt, and poured the water into the proper location on the coffee maker. While he preferred to do things using magic, muggle things still fascinated him. So he definitely didn’t mind making coffee with a muggle coffee maker. He measured out the proper amount of coffee grounds, and put them into the basket, after the filter.
“Tell me, Wyatt and Wade. Do you really think Uncle Ron would do well being woken up? …did you know his favorite animal is a spider?” he asked.
***
Weiss rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. She knew Fred was only teasing and usually she was more easygoing with it. She was used to it after all. But with future kids showing up and lack of coffee, she wasn't too much in the mood.
"It doesn't smell very good, though," Wyatt made a face. He didn't understand why grown ups liked it so much.
Weiss narrowed her eyes at him. "You are not my son," she told him. Wyatt just shrugged and when his dad suggested waking up their uncle with a spider, he exchanged a mischievous look with his twin. It faded however when Weiss scolded their father.
"Fred! Don't encourage them."
***
“He’s definitely my son, though. Both of them.” Obviously both of them were. He couldn’t claim one twin but not the other. Maybe if they weren’t identical. Maybe. “I mean, how can you doubt it? Red hair, twins. Come on.” He grinned down at the twin boys, and had to laugh at their mother’s reaction to the suggestion of the spider. “Oh, they know that Ron would murder them if they woke him up with a spider.”
He winked at the boys as he spoke, though, continuing to encourage the two of them. Wade grinned up at his father, liking the idea of the spider.
Fred looked over at Weiss, and leaned in to kiss her softly. “We’ll be okay,” he said softly, loud enough for only Weiss to hear. “Especially once the coffee is finished.”
***
"Yes, I've figured as much." It was quite obvious the two boys were Fred's children. They certainly looked like him, so much that she could barely see herself in their features. Maybe the eyes? She wasn't too sure. She did wonder if they inherited her Semblance of Glyphs. So far, they showed no signs but then she'd know for sure she was their mother.
She caught Fred winking at them and narrowed her eyes at him. Then she sighed and leaned against him. "I know we will," she said. They could handle a week of having twins. Hopefully. "Is the coffee ready yet?"
***
The coffee maker beeped, signalling the coffee was ready, just after Weiss asked about whether or not it was ready. “It appears as though it is,” he said with a smile. He kissed her cheek quickly, before going to locate the coffee mugs. He retrieved two from the cabinet, then poured coffee into each.
Fred offered Weiss one of the mugs, taking a sip from his own as she took hers. Coffee was definitely going to be necessary today, and for as long as the twin boys were in Madison Valley. He peered over at his girlfriend for a moment, considering.
“I’m going to apologize in advance if they are anything like George and I were at that age.”
***
"Good timing," Weiss smirked a bit, glad the coffee was ready. She was still a bit sleepy and definitely needed a pick-me-up. Especially now that there's two little boys she and Fred might have to take care of for possibly a week or so.
She added a bit of cream and sugar to her coffee, sipping it slowly as she watched the two boys play. "I'm not sure I want to know what you two were like when you were younger." She imagined Fred and George were quite the handful. Hopefully Wade and Wyatt won't be too bad.
***
“Perfect timing,” he said with a smile. He took a sip of his coffee, watching the twins for a moment. He was pleased that he and Weiss had had children, he was pleased that they had taken after him quite noticeably.
“George and I were perfect, Weiss.” He gasped softly when one of the boys laughed at his statement. “Hey now,” he said, grinning. “We weren’t that bad. Just a little bit.” Okay, maybe a lot. But he didn’t have to admit everything, did he?
***
"I highly doubt that," Weiss smirked a bit. Fred and George being perfect little angels. Yeah, sure. That happened. "I bet if I ask Ron, he'd say otherwise."
It was when she mentioned his uncle's name that Wyatt remembered. "Oh yeah, we're supposed to wake him up with a spider! C'mon, Wade!" Before Weiss could stop them, they both ran into Ron's room. A few moments later, she could hear a scream and Ron came bursting out of his room.
"Fred, what the bloody hell?! Who are these kids and why did they wake me up with a bloody spider?!" Ron yelled at his older brother.
***
Fred cackled softly at Ron’s response to the twins waking him up with a spider. He hadn’t really thought the boys would do as he had suggested, and it amused him to think that they had actually listened to him. He gave Ron an innocent look when the other redhead came into the kitchen. “These, Ron, are my sons. Wyatt and Wade.”
He remembered their names now. Which he supposed was a good thing. He definitely should remember his sons’ names.
“They woke you up with a spider because they have it in their head that you like spiders.” His eyes then widened slightly. “You two did magic? You’re bloody wizards, too!”
***
"Since when do you have children?" Ron asked, still bewildered by it all. He glanced at the twins and there was no denying they were Fred's. But how? Why?
"It's a Dome thing," Weiss explained to him. "Once in awhile, it gives us future children or children from an alternate universe. You might actually have some too."
Ron just groaned in response. "Great. So far, I have nephews that are a nightmare." Yeah, if this continued, he was going to have a rough time until they left. He assumed they would leave, anyway. He hadn't been around for as long as Weiss and Fred have been, but he did know this sort of thing was temporary. "I bet you put that in their heads too," he glared at Fred.
At the same time, Wyatt nodded. "We are! And we have Mom's Semblance too!" He decided to demonstrate, making a Glyph appear at his feet and he glided around the living room.
***
"You're a nightmare, Ron, not my twins." He grinned at his younger brother, and reached out to ruffle one of the twins' hair. Of course, he was teasing Ron. Because that's what he did. His eyes widened when Ron blamed him for the spider. "I did no such thing, Ronald Weasley. Okay, maybe I did, but I didn't think they'd actually go through with it."
How was he to know that the twin boys would actually listen to him? He wasn't accustomed to children listening to him, it was all very strange to Fred.
He grinned once more when Wyatt demonstrated the Semblance. "You are our children," he said, happily.
"You doubted us?" Wade asked, pouting slightly.
