Jesse McCree, Ella, and Max
"Not a chance, my love," she replied, unrepentant and yet still so warm and loving. Ella even leaned in and gave him another kiss just as they got to the part of the hill where they needed to separate so that she and Max could take the sled down the hill. She did linger for a moment, unable to help herself since she was basking in the warmth and love of their relationship. They had so many wonderful memories that the awkward and unconventional ones were outnumbered easily.
"See you at the bottom of the hill." With that, Ella turned to Max. "Are you ready to go for your first sled ride?" she asked with an enthusiastic smile. The pair of them walked up the hill and it took only a few minutes for her to get both herself and her son settled on the sled. It was a good thing she'd chosen to wear pants today, as it would've been uncomfortable wearing her traditional layers of skirts.
"Ready?" she asked her son, who clapped his hands excitedly in response. With a big grin, Ella pushed off and they slid their way down to Jesse. It was exhilarating, albeit a bit terrifying, and she and Max wore matching smiles from ear to ear even as they narrowly missed running into Jesse.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! It's hard to steer with this!" It was also a bit difficult to get up, as well.
