"Really?" Mason responded, surprised that she hadn't grown up with snow. "Well, you're a natural with snowballs."
He continued piling up snow, trying to keep the walls relatively straight and uniform. "For some types of snow it helps to have a mold, to make bricks and stack them up. It keeps the walls a uniform width, rather than getting too wide at the base and to thin at the top. But this can just be a quick wall to hide behind for an ambush, so we can make it work with just piling it up."
