Elena & Kate
It was strange to think that Clay and her would not have Kate and her brother here. It was one of the stranger parts of Madison Valley; people can from different places in the timeline and because of this, relationships that normally would have happened, didn't happen here. Or, like Clay, you move on to someone else because that said person doesn't show up or doesn't stick around. It was no one's fault and Elena was more comfortable with all of it having been here for two years now. There was a bit of sadness in this case, but they had all dealt with it the best they could.
When Kate joined her, Elena smiled, glad for a reason to be pulled from her thoughts. She was grateful for the opportunity to know Kate and they had a good relationship here. She never thought of herself as a mother, but Kate made her feel as if she wasn't half bad at it even if Kate was older. "Happy Thanksgiving," she returned and reached out to give her daughter a one-arm hug. "Yeah, unfortunately we didn't get to, but I think this is big enough to cover both in a way," she added.
