Who: Amy Santiago & Jake Peralta What: Awkwardness Where: The Park When: Sunday afternoon Warnings: unlikely Status: closed/in progress
Jake's arrival had completely thrown Amy for a loop. If she was honest with herself, she would admit that she kind of suspected there may be something between them when he was here last year, but he'd come and gone so quickly that she sort of pushed those thoughts away and deliberately didn't ask Rosa for confirmation. There was no denying it this time though and she had no idea what to think about that. Not only were they a couple, they were married and that was huge.
In the nearly two years that Amy had been here, she hadn't had a single cigarette. Today, though, she was huddled on a bench in the park, puffing away, a cup of coffee in her hand. She had no idea how to handle something like this. Yes, she liked Jake. But after everything with Teddy, she was determined not to date cops again. Neither of them was a cop here though. And apparently she got past that somehow, unless she or Jake left the Nine-Nine, but she couldn't see that happening. But she was also dating Chris here and, while they hadn't made any sort of commitment to each other, she did like him and it added a layer of complication to this whole situation.
She took a drink of her coffee before lighting another cigarette. The sound of footsteps approaching made her look up and she cringed when she spotted Jake walking towards her. She was tempted to hide her smoking, but she figured he already knew about her shame cigarettes so there probably was no point. "Hey," she said, stubbing it out.
