Though Castiel had lived with Mary and Sam for some time, Mary didn't have much of a chance to get to know the man outside of the fact that he was not a man at all, but actually an angel in "sheep's clothing" sort of. Oh he was kind of enough, docile, and at times clueless about human interaction, but Mary had enjoyed the amount of time she did get to spend with him even if it had never been much. He'd moved out a while ago to live with Blake, the man he was in love with, and now only occasionally visited the house. Unfortunately, Mary was often not around when he did due to work or simply something the involved aimless wandering through town.
However, today, Mary happened to be home when Castiel decided to make a visit to the house she shared with Sam. It was normal of Castiel to just let himself in and Mary was use to it by now. He had lived there before and no one was surprised when he did this. He didn't seem to have the normal sorts of boundaries that others did, but Mary knew it came from being an angel and his limited experienced with some human situations and traits. Strangely, Castiel also had a light tread and Mary didn't hear his entrance until he called out to her and Sam. The latter wasn't home, but Mary followed the sound to the kitchen to greet the angel.
"Hey Cas," Mary greeted, offering the man a smile. Not surprising he'd brought Star snacks and no doubt they had already been approved by the young woman somewhere in the past. Star was definitely spoiled, but she didn't act like it at all despite how many people dotted on her. "I see you brought some Star-approved snackage."
