Del had finished the brownies that Mercy had baked her with surprising speed, and had been craving more baked goods ever since. It took her a while before she remembered that there were places that sold such things, and went off through town searching for such a place. She brought along her fish, floating beside her on a string, to help. After all, everyone knew that fishes had a good sense of smell, and that was exactly what you needed to find a bakery. At least, she thought that was a thing everyone knew. She knew it, anyway.
When she found Horst's Little Bakery Haus, she twirled a few times in excitement. What a cute little shop! She opened the door and held it open while her fish swam slowly through the air and into the shop, then followed it.
She looked around. There were some tables, a couple of which had people sitting at them with baked goods, some shelves with various strange objects like fancy nutcrackers and old clocks and little houses. Upon seeing the tiny houses, she immediately got distracted from her original purpose, let go of the fish, and climbed on top of one of the tables to examine the houses more closely. Behind her, the fish wandered around the shop, gently butting its nose (which looked rather more like a dog's nose than a fish nose) against the sides of any container holding a baked item. Luckily it didn't actually butt its nose into any of the baked goods, but it was likely still somewhat unnerving, especially since the fish was still floating mid-air and was a rather unusual shade of chartreuse.
