Who: Lisa & Rogue
What: Chatting after last weeks craziness
Where: Homebrew
When: After Lisa gets off work
Rating: TBD
Status: Closed; Incomplete

As strange as it sounded, Lisa was actually relieved to get back to a normal routine which included going to work at the store. Though her trip to the west had not been as eventful as some, she was still happy the entire thing was over. She didn't much care for that time period or the way women were looked at and treated like second class citizens. Oh, she knew at the time it was simply how it was and people didn't think (well at least not too many yet) to change it, but Lisa still didn't like it. Even she had been okay with it because she didn't know any other way to be because she believed that was her life when it was actual a life this crazy town had invented for her. Sometimes Madison Valley could be such a trip and she didn't understand how such a town could have that much pull over everyone here, but she knew she wasn't the only one thinking that either. It was a mystery that just wouldn't be solved.

After work, having not heard from Rogue for some time, Lisa decided to stop by Homebrew for a chat with her best friend. Part of her felt that Rogue probably ended up in a tougher situation than Lisa had with the whole wild west scenario, but at least it seemed those with abilities did not possess them when the town made the switch so at least that was one thing her friend would not have had to worry about. Homebrew wasn't too far from Lisa's work and it didn't take her long at all to arrive, pushing open the door to step inside and head over to the bar area.

From somewhere in the back, Lisa heard the clanging of pans and she knew Rogue was no doubt working hard, cooking up her delightful, southern style cuisine or whatever someone had ordered up on the menu. Smiling to herself, Lisa tapped her nails idly on the counter before calling out to her friend. "Are you going to come out of hiding in the kitchen or am I going to have to go back there an drag you out?" She greeted in a teasing tone.

Rogue obviously heard her come in. She had leaned on Logan a little while she got home, so she had some advanced hearing right now. She smirked a little at Lisa's threat as she set down the pot and dusted her hands off on her towel. She pushed her white hair out of her eyes then pushed out of the doors in the back.

"Lisa." she grinned, "Don't threaten something like that. You know I might actually let you try to drag me out of the kitchen." she laughed as she draped the towel over her shoulder. "How have you been my friend?" she asked as she leaned on the bar.

"And what can I get you?" she asked after a moment. She loved Lisa like family, the best friend she had here. And probably one of the best friends she's ever had.

Knowing Rogue, the woman probably had obtained some sort of ability that allowed her to hear Lisa as soon as the woman entered the restaurant, but that hardly stopped Lisa from teasing her best friend. It was all in good fun anyway and it wasn't long before Rogue emerged from the back, smiling and looking every bit the cook she was with a towel in hand. She draped it over her shoulder and Lisa propped her chin in the palm of a manicured hand.

"Oh I know you would," Lisa replied lightly. "Probably one of the very few who could too." Rogue, like Lisa, didn't have a lot of people they could claim to be close. Rogue was a lot like her in that it took them both time to trust somebody enough to call them a friend. Lisa felt lucky she could do that with Rogue and it was one of the great things that her brother had helped her with before he was sent back.

At the question, Lisa shrugged her shoulders. "Trying to get back into normal life after wild wild west hell we were in for like a week," Lisa replied, shaking her head. "Glad to be able to have a choice in whether I wear a corset or not, you know?" It could be quite the fashion statement and all, but Lisa was glad to be back to her regular clothes. "How about yourself? How's living?"

Not surprising, Rogue asked if she wanted anything and Lisa reached for the menu. "Anything from your style of southern cooking does me well," Lisa replied, smirking from behind the menu. "And maybe something with a little whiskey in it for a drink."

"Oh my god, I can't even." she laughed as she held up a hand to go grab Lisa some food. She ducked into the kitchen to grab good, cajun shrimp over rice with plenty of spices that made it good.

She moved easily as she brought it out for her and then moved to pour her a whiskey too. She slid both before her friend and sat down next to her. "I was having an illicit affair." she grinned a touch, though her eyes were dark. The thought was fun. But the reality was she was back to no touching anyone.

"Also, way over corsets. Nope, don't want anymore."

Coming from Rogue, that never meant anything good. Lisa expected the spell or whatever that had come over the town a week ago had probably left her friend in some sort of predicament, but to what level? That remained a mystery as Rogue ducked back into the kitchen to hopefully cook her up some of that southern kind of cooking Lisa had come to enjoy so much from the other woman. She really had a knack for being behind the stove; Lisa was lucky to have her considering her own lack of cooking skill.

She returned quickly, placing a plate of delightful smelling cajun shrimp over a bed of rice topped with one could only guess was a wonderful array of spices. The brunette also poured her a glass of fresh whiskey and slide them both towards her. Lisa lifted her fork and immediately popped one of the large shrimp in her mouth, not surprised at how juicy and flavorful it was. She nodded, swallowing and reached for her drink, taking a small sip because whiskey was the kind of strong stop that was the definition of a sipper sort.

"An illicit affair?" Lisa's eyebrow rose and her interest was definitely peaked. "With who?" Along with the craziness of it all was the fact that Rogue had been able to actual make physical contact with someone without the nasty side effects of gaining their memories of abilities if they had any. Not that Rogue would have known how amazing that was at the time because she never knew she had powers to start with. "Oh and me too. Totally over them."

"Indeed. Apparently, I was married to a local but he was too nice for me and I needed someone else. I ended up sleeping with Sam Winchester of all people." yeah, sleeping with. a lot. often. Rogue's jaw tightened a bit at that. She was angry that she had such a chance and now it was gone.

Again.

She knew how amazing it was now. And that hurt more than she expected.

"I never want to be forced into a dress again, either."

When Rogue revealed who it was, Lisa looked surprised. "Sam? Really?" She knew Rogue was friends with Sam, but she had never pictured the two of them sleeping together. Then again, this was a different circumstance and no one had known who they were in the west when they were transported there. Rogue had the chance to be normal because of her abilities not being present and it must have been nice to just be able to touch someone without the side effects. "Well, how do you feel about that now?" Lisa guessed there had to be some "feelings" about that experience given they both remembered it.

At the dress comment, Lisa laughed and took another bite of shrimp from her plate. She could go without wearing that kind of clothing for the rest of her life. "I could definitely go the rest of my life without having to dress like that."

She had only, really, known him in passing. They hadn't been close. It made them being thrown together so much weirder for her. "Tired. Freaked out. Angry." she said softly as she looked over at Lisa and sighed. She poured herself a water and took a drink of it.

"I hate the fact the dome teased me like that, you know? Oh god, a week without powers, without being scared to touch people? It was heaven and it hurts so much." she ran her hand over her face.

Lisa nodded, understanding how Rogue felt quite a bit actually. "It's understandable," Lisa replied, taking a sip from her glass of whiskey. "I would be all those things too. The first one I definitely am," she added, lifting her fork to poke at another shrimp and pop it in her mouth with ease. It was delicious; in the west the food had been crappy at best.

And the next thing Rogue said made all the sense in the world and Lisa reached across the counter to cover her friend's hand with her own. "I'm sorry, Rogue. I know that must suck. You had everything you wanted and they snatched it away from you."

Her fingers curled over her hand. "I'm sick of it. I hate my life. I hate what this place does to us." She hated every minute of this hell. She was tired of being yanked around.

"How's the food?" She asked as she leaned on the counter, drinking her water. Her fingers tapped over the counter, drumming a nervous tic across it.

"I know. This place can be cruel at times. Especially to you," Lisa replied as gently as she could. Madison Valley seemed to take a sort of sick pleasure in messing with all of them to a degree, but it did seem like Rogue got the worst of it most of the time. In this case, allowing her to have a somewhat normal kind of existence and being able to touch other people without the fear of gaining their memories, powers, or simply killing them from the simple act. She offered the hand a brief, gentle squeeze.

At the question about the food, Lisa's smile returned. "Delicious as usual. You have a talent in the kitchen, Rogue. What can I say?" She replied truthfully. The woman could certainly cook and Lisa was enjoying her shrimp. The seasoning was delightful.

"It's not nice, that's for sure." she snorted in annoyance. Rogue only got the worst because of her abilities. She'd get close to people, or something, and it would tear them from her or make her lose control or something stupid. It was exhausting.

"You might have to resign yourself to randomly homecooked meals in the near future. I love cooking, but I stumbled on something that sounded like a good stress reliever."

"Not nice is putting it lightly. I know," Lisa replied, shaking her head. It was more like a nightmare, one that Rogue unfortunately kept on living despite everything the dome showed it could do. It just seemed to effect her friend so much more than most people and it was unfair. She could understand Rogue's frustration.

At the comment, Lisa frowned; she was so not one to cook and both of them knew it. "Well, what's dragging you away from the kitchen and these delightful meals you keep making me?" She asked, teasing a little.

She grinned a touch. "Gonna open an axe throwing place with Johanna. Thuogh I'll still cook for you." she smiled softly as she looked at her friend. "Don't worry, I won't leave you foodless." she teased back.

"I'm happy to feed you good food forever."

Axe throwing. Now that sounded unique and interesting...not that Lisa could ever see herself throwing axes, but some people in town might. Either way, she would make a point to stop in and see what it was all about. "That sounds interesting," Lisa offered. "I'm not much for throwing axes, but it sounds like it could be interesting."

At the comment about feeding her food forever, Lisa laughed. "I'm going to hold you to that."

"It's a good stress relief. I also live with an Axe Addict so. " she laughed. "But please, you should check it out once we're up and running. It should be fun."

She ran a hand through her hair. "Good, I like to cook. I just want to do it for fun not for work, you know?"

"I will definitely come. Even if it ends up being only for moral support," Lisa replied, laughing. She couldn't see herself throwing an axe, but maybe the two of them could convince her.

"I don't blame you," she added. "It can't be easy to be in front of a stove all day."

Rogue smiled at Lisa, she was grateful for her friend and grateful the woman stuck by her no matter how much trouble she got into.

It was nice to have a friend like that. She was lucky here, she had Johanna, and Chris, too. And spike. So many solid friends.

"It's not bad. I like it. I just want to enjoy it better"

"And you should," Lisa replied, nodding. Lisa knew she should do more things like that. She should try to branch out more from her daily life than she did like Rogue and like Johanna too.

A customer further down motioned to get Rogue's attention and Lisa nodded towards him. "You better see what he wants. I'll be here for a while still," Lisa reassured her.

Rogue stepped around the bar to give Lisa a brief hug, a sign of how much she trusted the woman and dared to touch her. Quickly so she didn't hurt her. She smiled. "See you soon, Lisa" she smiled then went back around the bar to go see what the man wanted from her.
