With a soft sigh, Clark just stroked Layla's hair gently, let her lean on him and take all the strength she could from him. He had plenty to spare.
"You're alright," he murmured reassuringly. "Everything's going to be fine." He'd take care of her. He'd be there for her every need until she was back to herself. He'd call the school to let them know she'd be out for at least the week, she should probably be expected back any time now and she was definitely in no condition.
He regretted that this had ever happened to her, but he could at least do something to ease her suffering if he couldn't possibly have prevented it.
