Jordan was proud of her work at the hospital. Being a nurse was one of the few careers a woman could have, and she was good at it. She liked being able to assist the doctors, to do what she could for the patients. They liked her bedside manner, the patients said. That made her happy -- she liked helping people.
She had to walk alone to work, though, which she didn't always like when she had to walk too early in the morning -- but it wasn't too bad, except for now that there was a killer loose. But she was brave, so she was doing it alone nonetheless. The Romanoff women did not shy away from what needed to be done, after all. Looke at it with trepidation, perhaps, but they did not shy away.
Jordan did, however, smile when she was approached by someone, one of the buggy drivers from the livery stables. "Hello," she greeted, unable to keep the smile from her face.
