Who: Natasha Banner-Romanoff & Sara Lance When: Late Monday night Where: Sara’s place What: A secret tryst Rating/Warnings: Sex implied Status: Completed gdoc
Another murder, this time while the Sheriff was out of town for a few days, and Sara was more than frustrated by their lack of leads on who was to blame. This time, the killer didn’t even go for one of the girls at the brothel. Lena was an upstanding young woman and there was going to be a lot more pressure on them to solve this case now that it wasn’t just whores who were dying.
When it was finally time for her shift to end, she gave Natasha a discrete signal and headed home to clean up before her company arrived. If anyone asked, they would say they were discussing the case, since the truth would likely get them run out of town. As enlightened as the Sheriff might be with his female deputies, even Steve Rogers wasn’t likely to overlook the unnatural relationship she and Natasha shared.
If it wasn’t for the other woman’s marriage and children, they would no doubt be the subject of speculation and rumors. Lucky for both of them that the doc didn’t seem to pay much mind to what his wife was doing.
She hadn’t even bothered to change out of her uniform when the knock came and she opened the door with a soft smile.

The murders were worrying Natasha, it was one thing to target the whores - people tended not to mind as much - but now that Lena had been killed the whole Sheriff’s department was under pressure to find who was doing it and stop them. Something she would love to do if they had any idea where to start.
Natasha had to admit though, it made excellent cover for her and Sara. With a difficult situation at work and a husband who thought his wife to be a dedicated law woman, it wasn’t hard to get time with Sara. It wasn’t that she didn’t love Bruce, she did, he was a kind husband and loving father but there was a connection with Sara that she couldn’t deny. She made Natasha feel alive in a completely different way.
As the door opened at her knock she smiled at the other woman, “Ready to work hard?” she asked.
***
“Always,” Sara said, ushering Natasha inside and closing the door behind her. She’d already checked to make sure all the curtains were drawn. One of the benefits to living a bit outside of town was that she didn’t really have any nosy neighbors, but you never knew when someone might wander by.
She picked up a bottle of whiskey and held it out. “Want a drink?” The sheriff was strict about them imbibing when they might be on duty, so it was taking a chance that they wouldn’t get called out tonight.
***
They were always careful when in public, nothing they said or did would be considered suspicious but to the two of them the true meanings were clear. It was like having a secret language. Sara living where she did definitely had some benefits though, that they were happy to take advantage of.
Natasha reached out her hand when the drink was offered but took hold of Sara’s own hand to pull her closer, “Not just yet. There’s something else I want more” she smiled as she wrapped her free arm around Sara’s waist.
***
Sara set the bottle down when Nat pulled her close. With the town growing, they were a lot busier at work so their trysts were fewer and further apart than she would like, so she wanted to take advantage of every moment they had. Especially before Steve returned to town and learned about the latest murder.
“What could that be?” she asked, her tone light and teasing before she leaned in to kiss the other woman. She loved the way it felt to kiss a woman. It was softer and less scratchy than kissing a man and she hated that they had to be so secretive and careful not to let anyone discover their relationship.
***
It was definitely frustrating that the increased workload, while giving them a good reason to be together, was also stopping them from seeing each other as frequently as they would have liked. And until the murderer was caught it was only going to get worse.
“You” Natasha managed to reply before their lips met and she allowed herself to get lost in Sara. Their bodies fit so well together that it was hard to imagine anybody could think it was wrong, how could it be when they worked so well together.
***
As soon as their lips touched, Sara wrapped her arms around Natasha as she pressed against her. She hated the fact that no one could know about them, that she couldn’t fall asleep in her lover’s arms or wake up next to her, but she was grateful for every moment they managed to spend together.
She didn’t waste any time peeling off Natasha’s shirt. They never knew how much time they would have and she was afraid that there would be an emergency that would pull them away from each other. “So beautiful,” she murmured.
***
While Natasha couldn’t give up her family there was part of her that wanted to be able to wake up with Sara too, in a perfect world they could all be together but this was far from a perfect world.
“That’s my line” Natasha told her as she removed Sara’s shirt and let her fingers trail down her neck to her chest, leaning in to press lips to Sara’s neck letting them follow the trail her fingers had just taken.
***
Sara made a soft, content noise when she felt Natasha’s lips against her neck and moved her hands to caress the other woman’s breasts, reveling in their soft weight. She’d long preferred women and spent a lot of time worrying about what was wrong with her because of it. It took her a long time to accept that she was just different though she did still occasionally date men for appearance sake.
Luckily, she lived in a one room shack, so it was easy to lead Natasha over to her bed.
*** Natasha hadn’t exactly been unhappy with Bruce but she had felt there was something missing, she’d just never been able to work out what. Until Sara. Being with her felt so right even though she knew everybody else would think it was evil or wrong. But when she was with Sara the world made a little bit more sense. And together they’d helped each other accept who they were. As much as they could anyway.
Smiling Natasha dropped backwards onto the bed, moving to take off her trousers without letting her eyes leave Sara’s as she did so.
***
As much as she appreciated watching Natasha remove her trousers, Sara figured it made sense to remove her own as well. They didn’t need clothes getting in their way. She tossed them aside before crawling onto the bed and pressing her body against Natasha’s. Just the feel of her soft skin and curves was enough to get Sara excited.
She reached out and trailed her hand along Natasha’s side as she captured her lips again, desperately needing as much contact as possible.
*** It was a shame their time was always so limited, the things they could do to each other if they had no restrictions... Still they enjoyed what they did have and always made the most of it.
Returning the kiss with passion and want Natasha let her own hands trail over Sara’s beautiful smooth skin. She loved reminding herself of every part of Sara’s body, knowing exactly where to touch to elicit sweet responses.
***
They quickly became a tangle of limbs, the only sound in the small room their soft cries of pleasure and heavy breathing, until they were both spent and curled up on the bed together. “I know you have to leave soon,” Sara said. Her husband and daughters would be expecting her and ‘working late’ only went so far.
“I’m glad you stopped by tonight.”
***
Natasha stroked her hand up and down Sara’s arm, she always hated having to leave but knew it was necessary. They wouldn’t get any time together if people suspected them of anything. But it was never easy to leave Sara.
“I’m always glad when I stop by” she replied, pressing a lingering kiss to Sara’s lips knowing she had to force herself to leave.
