Who: Dagny and Ron What: Chatting Where: Near his farm When Today Warning: None
It was a typical afternoon for Dagny and she was on her way home from school. It was bit of a walk from the school house to the farm but she never minded because it was good exercise and gave her a good chance to wind down from the day. The weather was beautiful that day so the blonde was taking the long way home from school that way, which just so happened to be near the farm that a certain redhead owned. She didn’t even realize she had gone that way until she saw him near his outdoor fence and she gave him a wave as walked over to him. “Ron! Hi!”
*** Ron had just gotten home from working at the construction site and was looking forward to relaxing for the rest of the day. Of course, he still had to do some yard work around the farm but it wasn't much. He could probably get that done quickly enough.
While he was fixing the fence, he glanced up when he heard his name and smiled brightly when he saw Dagny. "Hi," he replied. "How has your day been?"
***
Dagny stood up on the part of the fence near him that wasn’t broken and leaned on it as they talked. “It was pretty good. I didn’t get called on to read outloud today” Believe it or not, as outgoing as the blonde girl was, she did not like public speaking or being put on the spot. She would rather choose when to speak when be called upon to do so. Her nerves got the best of her whenever that happened and she clammed up like a church mouse. “How was work?”
*** "That's good, although I still don't get what's so scary about it." But that was Ron for you. He wasn't always the most empathetic person and to him, public speaking wasn't that scary. Probably because he'd always been the type to just speak his mind, but he had no problems with public speaking. But he liked Dagny and he never teased her about it.
Well, maybe a few times but that was it. Nothing over the top of anything.
"It was okay," he shrugged. "Nothing exciting happened. Just another day."
*** Dagny just shrugged when he said he didn’t get it. It was hard for her to explain it so she didn’t even try to. He was probably the only one besides her brothers that she didn’t mind teasing her about it. Everyone else got a glare from her then a foot stomp before she walked away.
“Are you hungry? I have some food left over from lunch” She offered with a smile, holding up her lunch basket.
