Bellamy had been gone for a month. Aurie had stopped asking about him. Octavia didn't want her to forget her uncle entirely, but young as she was, she didn't know how to make her hold on to the memories. Forgetting was probably inevitable.
Octavia sighed. Aurie was nearly two and a half. In some ways she seemed so big and grown up. In other ways, she was still very much a toddler. Octavia didn't have much to compare, she'd never been around children and her own childhood was a time she'd rather forget. She simply accepted that Aurie was hitting all the proper milestones of growth and development as she should.
Running ahead was definitely one of her favorite things to do. "Aurie. Stay where I can see you," Octavia warned as Aurie raced ahead, right into someone's legs.
