Castiel had immediately headed toward Blake's home once he had been informed of Stella's departure from Madison Valley. He knew how close Blake and Stella had been, and how important Stella was to the man. So he had a feeling that Blake wouldn't be handling her departure from the town very well, if at all.
Blake had told him to come inside when he realized that Cas was outside the house, and the angel did just that. He quickly found Blake, and settled down beside him. "Blake..." he said softly. He wasn't very good at comforting people, but he would do what he could to bring some sort of comfort to Blake. He knew Blake would need it.
"Blake, I'm so sorry," he murmured softly. He leaned in and pressed a kiss to the man's temple. He could at least try to be comforting, right?

Blake had a beer in hand. He'd drank half of it, and it was not his first drink of the evening. He set it aside when Cas came in. He didn't even react to the angel's arrival, he'd told him to come inside after all, and he knew Cas didn't need to use doors to do so.
"It's not fair," Blake whined. Stella was more than his best friend. She was the half that made him whole. It had been that way from the first day they met. They'd been inseperable. The time Blake had been in Madison without her had been hellish.
But he had Cas now. And other friends. He'd be all right. He knew he would. But it was hard just the same. There would always be a void in his life where Stella was supposed to be.

"I know it isn't," Castiel said, keeping his voice low. He allowed a hand to trail over Blake's arm, before he wrapped his arm around the man. He had understood how close Blake and Stella were. Stella was Blake's best friend, and he knew no one could replace that for the man. He knew there would always be a hole, a hole that only Stella could fill.
He didn't say that maybe Stella would come back, he didn't want to give Blake false hope in case she didn't come back. Yes, there was the chance she would, but there wa also the chance that she wouldn't. He knew the chances of her returning were slim, they were always slim when it came to the dome allowing people to return.
Castiel ran his fingers through Blake's hair, idly. He knew he wasn't very good at comforting people, and he hoped that his presence was enough for Blake. He knew that he very well could say the wrong thing, and he didn't want to do that. Not now.

Cas being there was a huge comfort to Blake. He hadn't had anyone before Stella arrived. When Newt disappeared, after only a couple weeks together. he'd been devastated. But he'd managed to keep it together then and he would now because this time he wasn't alone. Stella was gone, but he had cas. And Cas was here with him now.
That meant everything to Blake. He already knew Cas was amazing. But now he was proving it all over again. Blake sighed and turned into Cas, burying his face against the angel's shoulder. Except for that month or so he'd been in Madison before Stella arrived, he'd never been away from her for any length of time. If she didn't come back, and he knew there was a good chance that she wouldn't -Newt hadn't, after all- he was going to have to readjust everything.
"Your friend, Sam? You said you beat him up the other night and it made him feel better?" Blake lifted his head and alooked at Cas. Would that help him, too?

Castiel held Blake close, his hand running lightly over the man's arm as he did so. While Cas hadn't lost anyone in Madison Valley, he'd lost enough people in his world to know how much it hurt. It definitely wasn't a fun feeling, to lose someone you cared so deeply about.
He remained silent for a moment at Blake's question, studying him for a moment. He then nodded, "It wasn't just me beating him up, though. He held his own, and there were punches on his end as well." Cas leaned in and kissed Blake softly.
"Do you think that would help you?" he asked. He was willing to do whatever was needed to make Blake feel better, whatever was asked of him. And so he told the man this. "I want to be able to make you happy. What will make you happy?"
