"Well I can't teach you everything," she tossed back at him, and she even smiled as she rolled her eyes at him. He was annoying, but not in an annoying way. It didn't make sense, even to her, but Briar didn't really make sense to her either. He was just some boy, hardly impressive even if he could talk to trees. Plus, she knew better than to get too close to any more people. That would just inviting herself to get hurt so she was resolved to not do it. Except she did kind of not hate spending time with him.
Whatever. She wasn't going to deal with that anytime soon. Instead, she led him onto the line for the swings and started plotting out some of the other rides they could do, pointing them out to gauge his interest. They did a handful of rides before they went to grab some food and a place to sit for the fireworks. So what if she ended up not sketching at all. The fair had actually been kind of fun this year.
