Briar & Cassie
"Don't mean I want t be without while I'm here," Briar pointed out mildly, twisting to dodge around someone, tossing their wallet on the dirt behind them a few seconds later without anyone being the wiser. A few feet behind them someone kindly returned the wallet, so he didn't have to scramble back and do it himself.
"Guess I can keep you company for a bit, though. Ain't nothin' goin' on I can't do later." Or just pass on all together if he wound up doing it. It wasn't though he actually needed to be able to pick pockets. He was well provided for even if one of his guardians had gone now. The whole reason he'd lived with the couple in the first place.
So what if maybe he felt a little worried that he'd be out on the street again before too long and he needed to know he could still look after himself.
