Jessica Jones and Kate Bishop
The jazz hands motion earned a small, brief smirk from Jessica before it disappeared in favor of another sip of beer. Anyone capable of included a proper dose of sarcasm in a conversation was worth some sort of appreciative gesture. Jessica, above all, could definitely appreciate it even if she rarely chose to show she did. Social interaction and her didn't mix at most points. Still, a bit of sarcasm was something Jessica could appreciate...to a degree.
Jessica had no idea what that other "Jessica" was like. She guessed she was like her, but people that looked alike here had completely different personalities. Then again, they were not supposedly the same person like this scenario. This scenario had them as the same person. It was weird, but how much of Jessica's life was made of weird? Too much and this just added too it. Good thing she had a healthy dose of booze in her system to handle it.
The next words surprised her though and it gave Jessica pause before she reached for her last cup of beer. Helped her? Jessica helped someone and they were really grateful for it? To be fair, people did thank her...sometimes, but Jessica was not someone who usually went out of their way to give that help. She tried to avoid all situations in which she could be a hero which irked Trish to no end. Jessica had her reasons for it: she wasn't a hero. Biggest reason and yet this girl was thanking her and she wasn't that Jessica that helped her. What did you say to that?
"That doesn't sound like me at all..." Jessica trailed after a moment. "I'm not a hero." And half the time? Not a good friend even to the friends she had. "But um...I guess you're welcome." What else could she say?
