Lexa & Clarke
The comment had Lexa smiling immediately in return. It was something she did't have the luxury of experiencing back home. Madison Valley had given her the greatest opportunity and gift that she could ever ask for: Clarke and happiness. Not that the two were not acquainted with each other because they very much were. Lexa never believed she would ever experience a relationship with Clarke and in their world it was a real possibility that she wouldn't. Duty to their peoples made their own happiness take a backseat to all of it. They couldn't just be two young people in love; they had to be Lexa and Clarke: the Commander and the Wanheda. Madison Valley allowed them to be so much more and Lexa was grateful everyday for that opportunity.
"It goes both ways," Lexa replied sincerely. She knew it was difficult for Clarke too. Losing a lot of people she cared about so fast and worrying about other was far from easy. Just being here at the fair with all of that resting on your shoulders took a lot and Lexa saw all of that strength. "How are you doing?"
