Dwight & Pepper (Potts) Hendrickson
Since the night Pepper had broken down with him, Dwight had been doing anything and everything to keep her smiling. While he could understand the pain of disappointment every time, Dwight took something else into consideration.
He had had the joy of having a child of his own. Dwight's daughter had meant everything to him. Losing her had been devastating and he had barely come out of that dark place. There was still the feeling of raising a child, though. He could see how desperately Pepper wanted to have that experience and Dwight wanted to do everything he could to give that to her.
At this point, though, he wasn't sure how.
They could worry about that later, though. Tonight was about trying to have fun, play overpriced games, ride a few rides, and eat food that was terrible for them.
To which he pulled a fluffy piece of his pink cotton candy off the cone and offered it to her. "Now you can say that your husband is comfortable enough to be seen carrying pink cotton candy."
