"Fair enough," he replied, although he was still curious. Bucky knew if the quiet kept up, he'd get curious enough to mess around with some things. That was just the sort of guy that he was here, someone who loved cooking for his friends and family to help make things a little better. Kaleb wasn't a friend but he was a refugee and deserved to enjoy a little. It seemed to him that the other man wasn't like most other folks.
"I'm not sure," he answered about why they'd been invited. "My guess is that someone, somewhere, feels bad about the fact that this place nearly shut down near the beginning of July." That countdown clock had been a terror. "Seems like there's a lot of attempts to make up for it." He wasn't exactly keen on the idea of getting bribed into feeling more comfortable with life again, but it was what it was. "You fare alright with all of that?"
