Being in Madison Valley, she'd found that her unique kind of skills were far less called for. She hadn't decided if it was for the best yet or not. "I wouldn't want to get all rusty in case we end up in another Pulse situation."
At the offer of lunch, Max was caught off guard. In her world, people didn't go around offering food; you stole it from them. She eyed the bag for a moment, thinking it over carefully before she chose to accept it or refuse the offer. After a minute or two, she reached out and accepted the bag. "Starving," Max replied, opening it and studying the contents inside. "Thanks."
